Current rates, hours, payment rules, and what to know before you arrive.
2024 Parking Fee Schedule
Fees are set by the City of Page and may change without notice. All fees are per vehicle, charged once at entry, based on passenger capacity — not how many people are riding.
| Vehicle type | Passenger capacity | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Passenger vehicle (car, truck, SUV, RV, motorhome) | Any | $10 |
| Motorcycle | 1–2 | $5 |
| Commercial van | Up to 14 | $35 |
| Mid-size tour bus | 15–35 | $70 |
| Full-size bus | 35+ | $140 |
No park passes accepted. The America the Beautiful / National Parks Annual Pass does NOT cover this fee. This lot is operated by the City of Page, not the NPS.
Cash on holidays. During major US holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas), the booth may accept cash only. Bring $10 in cash to avoid delays.
Open sunrise to sunset
The parking lot is open every day of the year — 365 days, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Fee collectors are on site during operating hours.
- Best time to arrive: just after sunrise — cooler temperatures, smaller crowds, and the parking fee booth may not yet be staffed.
- Busiest hours: 9 AM–2 PM, especially May through September.
- Full lot policy: If the lot is full, you'll be turned away and asked to return later. No waiting in line on the highway.
Mandatory parking rules
- You must use this lot. No parking on US-89 under any circumstances. The highway is 65 mph and violators are ticketed and towed.
- No roadside drop-offs or pick-ups. A City of Page ordinance prohibits stopping along the highway corridor.
- No camping or overnight stays. The lot closes at sunset; vehicles remaining after close may be towed.
- No trail access outside lot hours. The trail is open during parking lot hours only.
Parking FAQs
How much does it cost to park at Horseshoe Bend?
$10 per passenger vehicle (car, truck, SUV, RV, motorhome). Motorcycles are $5. Commercial vans with up to 14 passengers are $35; mid-sized tour buses (15–35 passengers) are $70; full-size buses (35+) are $140. Fees are based on vehicle capacity, not how many people are in it.
Does the National Park Pass (America the Beautiful) cover the parking fee?
No. The Horseshoe Bend parking fee is collected by the City of Page, not the National Park Service. Federal park passes — including the America the Beautiful Annual Pass — are not accepted and do not exempt you from paying.
What are the parking lot hours?
The lot is open from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year, including holidays. Fee collectors are on-site during those hours. Arriving before the booth opens (around sunrise) is common for photography — you may enter, but do not count on getting out before the gate opens.
Is the parking lot open on holidays?
Yes. The lot is open every day of the year including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. During major US holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) the fee station may accept cash only — bring cash to avoid delays.
Can I park along Highway 89 instead?
No. US-89 is a 65 mph highway and roadside parking is strictly prohibited. Vehicles parked on the shoulder will be ticketed and towed. There is also an emergency ordinance prohibiting drop-offs and pick-ups along the highway corridor.
What if the parking lot is full?
You will be asked to return when space is available. There is no overflow lot with shuttle service — plan accordingly. The lot is typically fullest between 9 AM and 2 PM in peak season (May–September). Arriving at or just after sunrise avoids the worst congestion.
Is the parking fee mandatory — can I walk in from somewhere else?
There is no practical free alternative within walking distance. The nearest parking with access points is 5+ miles away. You must use the City of Page lot. The fee is mandatory for all vehicles.
Do payment methods include credit cards?
Yes — cash and credit/debit cards are accepted on normal operating days. During major holiday periods (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) the station may accept cash only to minimize wait times. It is always a good idea to have cash on hand.
