What to know about Antelope Canyon tours

Book as early as possible

Peak season (March–October) tours book up weeks or months in advance. If you're visiting in summer, try to book your tour the moment your travel dates are confirmed.

Light beams happen midday in summer

The iconic light beams in Upper Antelope Canyon only occur when the sun is directly overhead — typically May through July, around midday. Tours at other times (and all of Lower Antelope) don't feature light beams.

Photography tips

Phone cameras work well. For serious photography, check if your tour operator allows tripods — not all do. Midday tours in summer in Upper Antelope are best for light beams.

Sold out? Try Cathedral Canyon

Cathedral Slot Canyon is a compelling alternative when Upper and Lower are fully booked. It's less famous but equally stunning — and far less crowded.
