24 Hours in Page, Arizona

Arriving from Grand Canyon South Rim, Flagstaff, or Sedona? Here's the essential one-day loop.

Morning

Horseshoe Bend Overlook

Horseshoe Bend is 5 miles south of Page on US-89 — hit it on the way into town. Arrive between sunrise and 9 AM to beat the crowds and avoid the midday heat. Give yourself 1–2 hours. Pay the $10 parking fee at the booth.

Mid-morning

Check in, then Antelope Canyon

Drop your bags at your hotel, then head to your pre-booked Antelope Canyon tour. Upper Antelope is easiest; Lower Antelope is more adventurous. Book before you arrive — in peak season, tours sell out days or weeks ahead.

Afternoon

Glen Canyon Dam + Lake Powell drive

After your canyon tour, take a self-guided walk around the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook and the Carl Hayden Visitor Center. Then drive the scenic Lakeshore Drive inside the Lake Powell Resort area for stunning views of the reservoir (entrance fee required).

Evening

Dinner in Page

Page has a wide range of restaurants. The Ranch House Grille is a local favorite for breakfast/dinner. Into the Grand offers upscale cuisine with canyon views. Most restaurants are centrally located on Lake Powell Blvd.

Two days unlocks the water. Day 1 covers the sights; Day 2 puts you on the Colorado River.

Mid-morning

Horseshoe Bend

Hit the overlook on arrival from the south. 1–2 hours, $10 parking.

Early afternoon

Antelope Canyon tour

Pre-booked Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon. Allow 2–3 hours including transport.

Late afternoon

Glen Canyon area

Dam overlook, Carl Hayden Visitor Center, or the Lakeshore scenic drive.

Day 2
Early morning (7 AM)

Glen Canyon Float Trip

The half-day raft from Lees Ferry is the highlight of a two-day Page visit. Calm water, ages 4+, returns mid-afternoon. Or substitute a kayak trip for a more active experience.

John Wesley Powell Museum

The museum in downtown Page tells the story of the Colorado River explorer and the creation of Lake Powell. Fascinating and air-conditioned.
